CrowdStrike to acquire Fiddler, Dreadnode to extend AI security across agent lifecycle

Summary

CrowdStrike announced plans to acquire AI security firms Dreadnode and Fiddler AI, extending its Falcon platform into automated security testing of AI models, applications, and agents before deployment and observability of agent behavior in production. Dreadnode's testing technology will cover more than 100 AI attack strategies, and both offerings are scheduled for general availability in Q4 fiscal 2027. The announcements were made at Fal.Con Europe 2026 in Barcelona.

FRIEND

The expansion of mature AI security testing and agent observability tooling gives defenders new capabilities to find and monitor weaknesses in AI systems before and after deployment.

Defender Context

Enterprises deploying autonomous AI agents need pre-deployment red teaming and runtime monitoring for prompt injection, jailbreaks, and MCP server risks. Watch how these capabilities are integrated into Falcon and whether mappings to OWASP LLM/Agentic, MITRE ATLAS, and NIST AI RMF become standard in vendor tooling. This consolidation reflects a broader trend of security vendors acquiring AI-specific security startups.
